Non clan specific events for BoN forum members. Tournaments on BoN servers or something. Discuss!

Once again, will discuss with noodle. Many of our best ideas come from 3am chats about the future of BoN

Could use prizes (real or virtual) to promote BoN. "BOWL OF NOODLES GAMING NETWORK. BoN Tourneys starting soon, sign up to enter. Win prizes ranging from steam money to assorted magnets!" just to get stuff started. We might even want to start advertising to non-Minecraft players with comps in FPS's and RTS's. The only issue is that there will have to be multiple leagues due to lag and servers hosted in the respective continents for each league.

I'd say it'd be better if we were earning money of some sort before we start throwing some away. Now if some members want to donate/start something like this by themselves, then more power to you. If I could get a debit/ credit card to validate my paypal, I'd be happy to throw in 5-10$ if I see others interested in this.

If someone wants to put their hand up to be the official organizer for such events then I'm willing to throw BoN status as prizes, as well as steam games/gift vouchers and random cool gadgets.

I would; however, I have no way of arranging servers for anywhere in America. (I can host on my connection for Australasia and Noodle's VPS is German so that covers Europe.) Would you use this as an opportunity to start up servers for new games or just to advertise the MC servers?

Danny could possibly be enticed to host some servers at random intervals for the U.S. But having said that, I and other Americans don't get a noticeable amount of lag on Noodle's VPS, so an American-based server really isn't necessary unless Noodle wants to save space for something else.

I couldn't see myself putting an fps server on that box permanently, just because its nice to be able to use it for what I do now, random things 🙂 I'd be willing to shutdown said random things for a comp though. Where could we advertise it? Is there a teamliquid of the fps world?
