Foobar2000 Crashes on Library Scan

Seems to happen when adding hundreds of thousands of files at once, split in to smaller folders and/or only add parts of the library at a time.

Audio Cracking/Buffering Noises

Add PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=170 to your environment variables.

KDE/Plasma

Right click your foobar2000 desktop shortcut and press properties.

Add PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=170 to the Environment variables section like below.

Foobar2000 Shortcut Properties

Press OK and relaunch Foobar2000

Numbers less than 170 should work and will reduce audio latency, if you care about latency then keep reducing this number until the problem starts again.

Media Keys/Keyboard Keys

Media keys do not work natively, simulate them by making the following three scripts.

Next song

#!/usr/bin/dash
WINEDEBUG=-all PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=170 STAGING_WRITECOPY=1 STAGING_SHARED_MEMORY=1 /usr/bin/wine "/home/user/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/foobar2000/foobar2000.exe" "/next"

Plase/pause current song

#!/usr/bin/dash
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=50 STAGING_WRITECOPY=1 STAGING_SHARED_MEMORY=1 WINEDEBUG=-all /usr/bin/wine "/home/user/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/foobar2000/foobar2000.exe" "/playpause"
