Version mismatch

Version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 418.0, got 417.0.

You have an incorrect version of the 'vmmon' kernel module.

Try reinstalling VMware Workstation.

Take the kernel version from the command

uname -r

Example :

7.1.5-zen1-2-zen

Find the latest version of VMware kernel modules in /usr/src

ls /usr/src/ | grep vmware

Example :

vmware-workstation-25H2_24995812 vmware-workstation-26H1_25388281

Rebuild the modules, insert the two pieces of information from above in to the command.

dkms install --no-depmod vmware-workstation/26H1_25388281 -k 7.0.9-zen1-1-zen --force

Unload the old module and load the new one

modprobe -r vmmon
modprobe vmmon
