Introduction

As some of you know, I'm making a post-apocalyptic RPG set in a ravaged United States. The player controls a lone agent tasked with deactivating old nuclear weapons and exploring the region. Different side quests and the choice between three different character classes allow for some interesting gameplay.



The year is 1970. It has been seven years since the soviets nuked the US of A. You've been tasked with deterring foreign agents from stealing or detonating unused nuclear weapons on American soil. Sent to the former state of Nevada, it is your job to survey the region and decommission old nuclear bombs.



In a strange turn of events, the dead walk and hunger after the living. Survivors nearby fear for their lives daily, holed up in walled cities and cut off from the sands of the wasteland.

Features (features not implemented yet are colored in grey)



- Explore a very large map, encompassing California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona (and other locations)



- A variety of weapons, from pistols and shotguns to assault rifles and submachine guns. All with individual gunshot sounds and animations



- Categories of firearms with different bonuses allow the player to tailor their playstyle.



- A variety of undead and living enemies. Some will bite, others will shoot.



- Three character classes to choose from: a tough soldier, a medical scientist and a former police officer.

Downloads

Look in the files browser of Josrence's Channel on the RMM Teamspeak to download. Playtesting demos will be released weekly until the game is completed or deemed complete.



Changelog

~1.7.1 (in between releases) - Reformatted shop and weapon lists. Simplified to make things easier.



1.7 - August 29th - Date of this post. Allow usage of the Helicopter to explore new game areas.

Updated for 1.7.1 news - Not a downloadable update, simply redoing some portions of the game to make it easier for me to finish my game. 1.7.2 will be a downloadable update in the next few days.

Note: Jos is killing this game, and apparently looking for ideas for another game. Also make sure to let him know you're playing it, he thought no one was interested, and that's why he gave up. :p

Well if it's not going to die, I'll make a few suggestions.



1. Add more mobs, fighting against the same two mobs every time isn't exactly fun.

2. Maybe have some sort of storyline similiar to Pokemon? Only in the fact that you randomly come across situations where you need to intervene, or get drawn into some extra action like a bandit party that attacks you.

3. Add some srs quests? Like defending a town from a yearly migration of those cannibal things?

4. Have more characters and buildings in towns, other than just supply shops? Give the towns depth. (Maybe have some ruins filled with baddies?)

5. Maybe some sort of party system? Like two or three NPC's in the entire game that you can link up with and fight with.

there will be a party system, my character will be able to join your party late-game. :p lets say that the firepower added will be immense, but a bit clumsy.

Call it a 12cm cannon to confuse people and show you're as efficient as a European.



It's annoying when you use up more space than you really need to. screw it, call it a 1,2d decimeter cannon. Because that's what it is really.

why name it based off its caliber?



Could just call it by its actual name.

Rheinmetall L44 120mm

Shortened to 'L44'



(L44 is the nickname given cause of the length of the cannon)



Besides, lenght of the name wont matter as only my character will be able to use it ^_^

Well, if he adds you, I will finish the game just to play with you.



And come on now, 12cm. Roughly 5 inches. Do you really need to use millimeters? Really? Why not 0.12m or better yet, 0.00012 km?

Pre-1963? Screw you with your inconsistencies, when the game window is titled 1974, and we see 1974 in the very begging.



So go on with my island idea, and add a 0.00012km cannon that only M1 can wield.
