The latest edition of the Upload VR Showcase has arrived and it shined a light on a wide range of games that included everything from a new Attack on Titan VR game to a farming sim called Across the Valley to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 Retribution to a Peaky Blinders game.
There were a lot of games and it can be a lot to keep up with all of them, so we've gathered each and every announcement from Winter 2022's Upload VR Showcase below to ensure you don't miss a thing!
The beloved Attack on Titan anime and manga is getting the VR treatment with Attack on Titan: Unbreakable in Summer 2023 on Meta Quest 2. While we didn't get to see any gameplay, it was teased that, "To protect the future of humanity," we must "eliminate the titan threat."
A new weapons-focused trailer highlighted all the new ways to eviscerate zombies in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 Retribution. The new weapons include The Blessing pistol with its payback bonus, The Chosen knife with its launch bonus, La Boum shotgun with its payback bonus, a chainsaw, the Vera .416 Express rifle, a grenade launcher, Louisiana Kiss gloves, and The Devil's Paintbrush dual pistols. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2 Retribution is now available on Meta Quest and is coming soon to Steam VR, PS VR, PS VR2, and PICO.
Based on the hit TV series Netflix and BBC show, Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom will transport players into the world of the Peaky Blinders crime gang that is set right after World War I. This new game will feature appearances by Rowena Fox, Arthur Shelby, Polly Gray, Thomas Shelby, and more. Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom will be released on Meta Quest and PICO 4 on March 9, 2023.
Maskmaker will be making its way to Meta Quest on December 15, 2022, and will put players in the shoes of a maskmaker's apprentice and allow them to craft and put masks on to learn more about the game's world, solve puzzles, and more.
Ancient Board Games is a new game headed to Meta Quest 2, Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in 2023 that will let players compete in a wide range of... well... ancient board games.
Vail VR is a 5v5 virtual reality multiplayer competitive shooter that rewards players who work as a team. Vail VR is available now on SteamVR and, in January, Season 1 Esports with IVRL (International Virtual Reality League) will begin.
Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game is a VR action roguelite game set in the universe of Stellaris and it will transport players to the stars to participate in space battles, encounter planet-sized creatures, and gather loot to conduct research. At launch in early 2023, Ghost Signal will support Hand Tracking 2.0, providing even more immersion into the universe of Stellaris.
Straylight is a sci-fi adventure that will have players racing through 24 handcrafted levels as fast as your and your grappling hooks will take you. You aim at points of interest in each level to keep your momentum going as you rocket towards them. It's all about speed, and you can even race ghosts of your friends or other players. Straylight will be released on January 31, 2023.
Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate - Episode 2 is the penultimate chapter in the sci-fi visual novel saga that takes place in a world where dreams are used to predict and prevent crimes before they occur. This new entry will be released on Meta Quest 2 on December 8, 2022, and it will arrive on PS VR 2 on February 22, 2023.
Little Cities Snowy Island DLC brings a winter wonderland to Little Cities and features two new islands to visit and a ton of snow-themed buildings and activities to partake in. Snowy Island is the first paid DLC for LIttle Cities and will arrive on Meta Quest and Meta Quest 2 on December 8, 2022.
Get a first look at Everslaught Invasion's progression system, which gives players the power to upgrade their character with such abilities as double jump and a way to reduce cooldowns by killing enemies with your melee weapons. The trailer also shows a few of the many weapons available to players in this co-op, combat-focused adventure heading to Meta Quest 2 in spring 2023.
Drop Dead: The Cabin VR tasks players to survive a night haunted by the undead. The Cabin you are stuck in is more than it seems, however, and it holds many mysteries and powerful weapons for those brave enough to find them. Keep the generator running and wait for extraction by helicopter by any means necessary. Drop Dead: The Cabin VR will be released on Meta Quest 2 and Pico 4 on February 16, 2023.
Requisition VR, a game all about surviving a zombie apocalypse, received a big update in November and its newest trailer shows off some of the additions, including a new Dungeon map, new zombie models, new weapons like a molotov cocktail, an in-game shop, reusable traps, and a heroic gun encyclopedia. Requisition VR is available now in Early Access on SteamVR.
Pistol Whip's newest trailer has revealed its Winter 2022-2023 Roadmap, and it includes the Holiday Update that's out now, a Pico-4 release on December 15, a PlayStation VR2 release on February 2023, the Pistol Mix modding tool coming next year, and five new scenes called Overdrive that will arrive throughout Spring 2023.
Ruinsmagus' The Warrior and the Tailor update is now available on Meta Quest 2, Steam VR, Pico XR, and Oculus Rift and adds to the fantasy VR title a new location called City Center, new costumes like a bunny outfit, an option to replay story quests, a new wave-based challenge called Meister's Abyss, a new enemy called Schneider, and more.
Per Aspera VR is a new Mars colonization game for Meta Quest that features both campaign and sandbox modes. Per Aspera boasts an authentic experience that utilizes topographical maps from "leading space agencies." The story will be filled with twists and turns and features such voice actors as Troy Baker, Phil Lamarr, and Laila Berzins. Per Aspera will be released on Meta Quest 2 in 2023.
Survival Nation's latest trailer starts off by looking like an outdoor adventure sim, complete with hunting, scavenging, surviving a bear hunt, and more. However, it quickly becomes apparent that this world is infested with zombies, and you'll have to survive them alongside all the trouble nature can throw you. Survival Nation will be released on PCIO 4 and SteamVR in December 2022 and will arrive on Meta Quest 2 and PS VR2 in 2023.
Hot Dogs, Horse Shoes, and Hand Grenades is a VR sandbox game that features "SO MANY GUNS," and the latest update will add even more guns. Two hot dogs in the trailer also shared that the "Meatmis Advent Calendar" is going on now through December 25 and that Steam Workshop support is coming next year for custom ranges and minigames and "stuff."
Across the Valley is coming to PS VR2 and PC VR in 2023 and looks to bring a Harvest Moon-style game to virtual reality. Plant and tend to your crops, pet and care for your animals, and much more as you work to become the best farmer there ever was.
Coming to Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR in 2023, Guardians Frontline is a first-person shooter that puts you to war against giant bugs and comes complete with a single-player campaign, co-op and PvP modes, as well as a custom map editor!
Retrace Harry's footsteps and solve a great mystery in Call of the Sea VR, an adventurous trek through the jungle and sea and an "extraordinary isle," that will have players solving puzzles, avoiding danger and potentially transforming into some kind of sea creature/monster. The VR title is coming to Meta Quest 2 in Q2 2023.
Embrace the FPS insanity with Gambit, the explosive shooter filled with crude language, crazy violence, and all the single and multiplayer carnage you could want. Gambit features a wild campaign, up to 4-player co-op adventures, full crossplay, and more. Gambit will be released on Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR on December 8, 2022.
Face puzzles, caverns, and massive sea creatures in Eolia: Quena's Requiem when it launches December 15, 2022, on Meta Quest 2. Eolia looks to immerse you into a strange new world and task you with figuring out what is actually going on.
Confront dark truths and find answers in this VR detective thriller that will be released in early 2023. The truths appear to live in the dreams and brains of the victims, and it's up to you to solve the cases that aren't as clear as they seem.
There's a new character coming to first-person hack and slash combat game Broken Edge: The Viking! This green warrior comes with a sword and shield and new ways to take down your enemies.
GameVRoom is a collection of tools that allows you to interact with your favorite games in the most immersive ways possible by allowing players to bind any controller input to mouse, keyboard, or gamepad actions. You can also use gestures to perform actions and add buttons around you to add more options as well. GameVRoom also supports up to 4-player co-op, which lets you invite friends to even play games with only couch co-op and more. GameVRoom will be released on Steam via Early Access on December 15, 2022!
Coming to the Viking Metal Rhythm game Ragnarock on December 15 is the Nuclear Blast Raid, featuring music from Equilibrium, Beast In Black, and Battle Beast.
Propagation: Paradise Hotel is a survival horror VR game set in a hotel that is anything but paradise. It does, however, hold an intriguing story, an illness that is turning people into monsters, and more inside its walls. Propagation: Paradise Hotel will be released in Spring 2023.
Drawn in beautiful, bold line art, We Are One is a love-letter to nature that has the unique conceit of letting you team up with clones of yourself to fight back against your enemies in this VR adventure coming to Meta Quest 2 and Steam VR in May 2023.
Vertigo takes place on an alien world filled with dangers unlike any you've seen before. You'll need a quick mind and a powerful arsenal of weapons if you hope to survive and discover the secrets and truth just waiting to be found. It also features a story filled with creatures, characters, robots, monsters, aliens, and everything in between. Vertigo 2 will be released on Meta Quest 2 and SteamVR on March 20, 2023.
Choose a celestial and go to war in Divine Duel, a VR fighting game that features a sci-fi/fantasy art-style and over 40 weapons, spells, and summons to take down any who stand in your way. Divine Duel will be released on Meta Quest and Steam in 2023.
Red Flower is a first-person action game that sees players becoming a katana-wielding, death-dealing warrior who also happens to be a parkour expert. Red Flower looks to be as brutal as it is beautiful, and will task players with finishing levels in the quickest and most efficient ways possible using grappling hooks, wall running, fast attacks, and more. Red Flower will be released in 2023. The game is currently in beta and Joy Way wants to develop the game alongside its players and see how the game progresses from start to finish. Red Flower can be played now via App Lab and Sidequest.
Stack looks to be a high-flying first-person game that puts a time disc in player's hands that can fly and bounce around the world in a devastating way. Stack is a multiplayer adventure that will challenge players to attack with their time disc while also blocking with their shield if they hope to emerge victorious. It's a fast-paced adventure that will require teamwork and quick actions. Stack can be played now via App Lab and SideQuest.
Fans of Mirror's Edge will feel right at home with Stride Fates, a first-person action game that sees players parkouring, grapple hooking, and shooting their way through a metropoils and taking down any threats that happen to get in their way.
