Cyberpunk 2077 Is Being Turned Into a Board Game

Roll for Street Cred – Cyberpunk 2077 is being turned into a board game. That’s right, the sci-fi RPG from CD Projekt Red is being turned into a board game. Not be be confused with the original Cyberpunk tabletop RPG, this minatures board game lets you unplug and play Cyberpunk 2077 old school-style, with dice and counters. But it’ll cost you a few Eddies.

Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City – The Board Game is available to back now on Kickstarter, with the ability to hire famous Edgerunners such as Johnny Silverhand and even Jackie to help you.

Based on the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, the board game tasks players with playing out their own story among the gangs of Night City – becoming a regular legend in the process… or a washed-out gonk.

Here’s what the game is all about, according to the Kickstarter page: “Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is a competitive game in which 1 to 4 players take on the role of ruthless gangs vying for control of the underground in the glittering hellhole that is Night City. Clash with other Gangs in the meat or on the Net, as your enterprising band of toughs seeks to gain dominance over the criminal underworld that rules the streets. Only the boldest will be remembered, and your Street Cred will pave your way to the top.”

Ordering Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City via Kickstarter will score you some exclusive stuff – namely, some pretty cool miniatures you won’t find elsewhere, including V (Male and Female), Evelynn Parker, and Sandra Dorsett among many others.

If you’re into board games and Cyberpunk 2077, it looks like an interesting combo. And we’re assuming there won’t be quite so many bugs at launch this time around…

Additionally, a new Cyberpunk 2077 anime is on its way in September, with the show’s protagonist already referenced in the game two years ago. Meanwhile, Cyberpunk lead artist Michał Janiszewski explained why the game uses that distinctive Cyberpunk yellow in all its branding.
