In a piece of news I certainly didn't see coming in the waning hours of 2024, today it was announced that indie cult classic game OFF is getting released on Steam and Nintendo Switch next year in a new and "improved" version, including a physical edition. For those unfamiliar, OFF is an RPG that first released in 2008 from Belgian studio Unproductive Fun Time. It was made in RPG Maker, originally released in French, and has never received an official English translation, though multiple fan translations have sprung up over the years. New York Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly used Madden NFL video game ratings to make real world player acquisitions. As reported by The Athletic, a deal between the Jets and the Denver Broncos, that would bring wide received Jerry Jeudy to New York, fell apart when Johnson stepped in to say Jeudy's player rating in Madden NFL was too low. The deal was otherwise good to go but fell apart based on Johnson's decision. Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead is giving all players free Killzone items starting today, December 19, in response to a backlash over pricing. Activision Confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Character Recast After Players Expressed Concern About New Voices

Activision has confirmed it has recast some members of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 cast after fans noticed much-loved Zombies characters with new voices in-game. Writer of Beloved Sonic the Hedgehog Song 'Live and Learn' Is Suing Sega

The writer of the infamous Sonic Adventure 2 song "Live and Learn" is suing Sega, claiming he owns the rights to the song in part, and alleging the company has been using the song without his permission and making money off it over the last 20 years. In a lawsuit first spotted by Polygon and also viewed by IGN, John Gioeli, the writer and performer for Live and Learn, asserts that he has maintained his songwriting registration for the song for over 20 years since he first wrote and recorded it for Sonic Adventure 2. Sony Becomes Largest Shareholder in FromSoftware Parent Kadokawa, No Full Takeover for Now

Sony has invested 50 billion yen (approx. $318 million) in FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa, putting the brakes on a full takeover for now.
